... as I have wanted to for years. And the teacher Julian is such a good presenter; we learn history, art history and culture all in context. The pace is perfect and I am completely inspired. The courses include drawing, painting and photography, so I am picking up some great information. And while I may not be immersed in the Italian language, I am immersed in British accents and colloquialisms. Which is great preparation for my next move to London!

Lazy morning so we missed the chianciano market. Instead went to Santeano and visited the castle before lunch at L Osteria del Merlo in Cetona. Amazing lunch - highlights were the 1986 vinsanto and sorbet inside the fruit (see photo). Visited Ravazzi cantina where we had 5 bottles opened just for our tasting - trying 10 in all. Bought a very nice red as the first in the collection for Sienna. Very light dinner tonight!! Sleepy after too much wine ...
... up on some local goods from nearby market (also found cantucci to enjoy with our vinsanto - delicious!). Amazing place - unfortunately very cold today (didn't pack for the cold at all!). Apparently we will be hearing wild boar out of our windows through the night ?? Very remote place!! Fingers crossed tomorrow is better. Hoping to get to the chianciano farmers ...
