Our hotel has big bears and moose (not real ones) all around it and is geared up for winter skiing.
We did a forest walk and I saw a chipmunk. First one I have ever seen. Not sure if it was Alvan Simon or Theodore!
Bit of a strange day today. We travelled a lot and I kept falling asleep.

... than VT? I'm not sure yet. I'd hoped to stay a couple of days at Lake Winnipesaukee, but it's too touristy for our tastes. I'd wanted to canoe, but would probably have gotten run over by a tour boat, with tourists snapping pictures all the while. Tomorrow we'll head up through the White Mountains (there's a difference, VTs are Green) and hike for a couple of days. ...

This bald eagle is actually a juvenile, and doesn't have the white head yet. We expect that next year, he'll be about 5 years old and have his white head.

Today was quiet, beautiful, uneventful, and really everything I was looking for when I planned this trip. There are no silly stories to tell tonight, no amazing experiences, just a day of slowing down even more and letting the quiet and solitude begin to work its magic on me.
