The air is a bit smokey up here today, but it's in the mid-seventies and pleasant. Lynn and I hiked a bit over three miles this morning. Lots of folks are moving around, leaving, coming and just moving.

After leaving Yellowstone via the West Entrance, we decided to make our way north towards our next big destination, Glacier National Park. As we never plan what we are doing more than a 12 hour span, we grabbed the map and scoped out a route that would take us far enough tonight to have an easy drive into Glacier. I forgot to mention that yesterday when I left here for Butte, that a large cow elk ran across the road in front of me. I didn't have the good camera ready, so you'll have to take my word for it. In all the years, since 1976, that we've been coming up here, I've seen elk only twice. This is the third time. Quite a thrill for an Ol' Guy...

... TJ, his wife Amy and our six year old Grand Niece, Viv(ian) came and stayed for a night. What a treat it was to see them too. As true adventurers, they slept in a tent next to the large willow tree in our "front yard." Viv and Auntie Lynn hit it off beautifully. It's a joy to see them together.
