Lynn and I left Helena for the lake on Wednesday. It was warm when we arrived. When I turned on the outside water valve, I became suspicious, since it was already in the "on" position...not good.

A bit later I went into the bathroom which we were warming with a small heater to see if the cold water was thawed yet. Oh no! Water had flooded the floor and the heat ducts due to a frozen and broken pipe. Long story short, we cleaned up ...

After leaving Yellowstone via the West Entrance, we decided to make our way north towards our next big destination, Glacier National Park. As we never plan what we are doing more than a 12 hour span, we grabbed the map and scoped out a route that would take us far enough tonight to have an easy drive into Glacier. I forgot to mention that yesterday when I left here for Butte, that a large cow elk ran across the road in front of me. I didn't have the good camera ready, so you'll have to take my word for it. In all the years, since 1976, that we've been coming up here, I've seen elk only twice. This is the third time. Quite a thrill for an Ol' Guy...

We had a great time. Lisa, our daughter, and her husband, Rich came up from Auburn, Washington with their fine fox terrier, Madison. We hiked and biked and just enjoyed one another in general.
