    ... Mt. Koshi. Traditional Japanese Onsen Hotel. Booked the private Onsen as not enough courage to expose private bits in the public baths. Very relaxing. Even Rod agreed to try it, which is pretty amazing as he usually will not step out of his comfort zone. Then off to dinner with Kerry and Gloria. They have travelled extensively and are really interesting and good company. So a few beers and glasses of sake before hitting bed for a good nights sleep. Damned Sake....headache ...

    ... It provided, however, a relaxing way to enjoy the setting sun amidst the mountainous scenery ("Japanese Alps"). We caught the evening shinkansen from Nagano to Kanazawa.

    ... There are still hundreds of people here, and we take a few hours to see the temples. Now as its a nice sunny day, we walk the streets for a few hours discovering lots of cool little lanes and shops. Nagano is a really nice town, spotlessly clean and full of extremely polite people.
    Tomorrow we are taking the Shinkensan to a town called Kanazawa, on the west coast of Japan. My only concern is the weather, i think we are in for some rainy days
