... make room for them at buffets), Lonely Planet had a mention of one, and my brother had heard of them from some of his Animees so we decided to try it. We went to Sweets Paradise in Shibuya. You paid a flat fee and you're allowed to eat as much as you want for 90 minutes (for some reason they told us 80 minutes. Maybe it was b/c we were do American guys and they felt that we could take them out of business). There were many cakes ...

Adjusting my expectations... I had thought I'd zip through the castle and get to Kyoto early. Probably not. Everything takes longer than you think.

When we finally got there it was wonderful. The monkeys are wild but you could get up really close to take pictures. Mark went so close I thought they were going to attack him! They were great to watch, as they frolicked ...
Yudunaka, Chubu, Japan markandchar... they are willing to share information, it just takes time. The ride back was filled with American and Japanese chatter, as we had all become good friends at this point. Bonding over questions and beer is never a bad thing :) We will be meeting up with a bunch of the students this thursday and most of them are coming to Boston this summer, which is really nice. We will be able to show them our home, as they have graciously shown us theirs.
Mt. Fuji, Japan maillette.cDay two of the seminar included presentations by all the American students on a policy book and another book called Japan: Unbound by John Nathan. My presentations focused on Fiscal Policy comparing Japan and America and Breakdown in the Classroom, a focus on Education. We arrived in Matsumoto around 3:50, the castle we wanted to visit closed at 5. We threw our bags in another locket, walked from the station only getting lost for a few minutes and made it there by 4:20. Matsumoto-jo castle is the oldest castle in Japan and is ...
