... drink it to use all the flavours. We also had some steamed radish and pickled greens which were served first. Gee lucky we had done some activity because it was a huge meal and only about $17 per person. After being home a bit, we needed to go for a walk due to still being massively full from lunch. We got dropped into town for a wander but cut it short a bit cos the drizzle began and then turned to snows. I'm lying in our warm room and have ...

Today is the day to venture up to the Japanese Alps to Myokokogan. Marina was lovely enough to drop us over to the train rather than us having to go all the way back down to Nagano and back up on the other line. The walk in was lovely, a tiny bit slippery in some parts but very pretty through the forest. After paying 500Y we walked around the river and there they were. The first ones we spotted were sitting in the snow by the river and a few were running around. Then we got into the section where the hot water ...

... bottles. The owner Marina is a gem, she is very informative and went through lots of the stuff to do, how to get cheaper deals and most importantly where to eat. Dinner was great, we went to a small place close by called Matsubaya And had their specials. I had the beef and rice set with miso and pickles and Scotty had the pork fillet and rice set. They were so yummy and hearty which is what we needed. Good value too. With full bellies we got into our big puffy warm beds and ...
