Barbara had one of her walking poles with her and with good grips on her walking boots it wasn't too bad. Sue had not had a chance to put her metal ice grips onto her boots and so struggled until with the help of the tour leader she managed to get them on. ... wearing it down. By the time we leave Nagano tomorrow, unless it snows tonight, I think we'll have the pile destroyed.

Still unsure of whether the trek into the mountains to the monkey park would be worth it, since it was a beautiful day with nothing else on the to-do list for us to explore in this region, we decided to give the monkey park a go, and I'm very glad we did.

... a decent snow storm roll in, so with the sun gone down, and the temperature now dropped easily below freezing in the wind, I took Charlotte and Angela for a walk back towards the train station, through the lightly falling snow, to the 7/11 for a selection of dishes and sandwiches for dinner.
