This morning i got rudely awakened by the innkeeper. They have some kind of wake up service but that consists of turning on the light which shines directly into your eyes. I got up and packed all my stuff in my backpack and went to the bathroom to wash myself. But it was closed and when i asked the guy at the reception he told me that there's no bathing in the morning. Wonderful walk up to ...

They loved to go for a swim in their little onsen and we even watched one holding his breath and staying under water for ages. We ...

... do so for just over 20 km to the pass. My legs felt better today; I felt like I had more power and was climbing with more speed than yesterday but the niggly knee problem remained.

Although I started the climb in bright sunshine, as I rode higher, clouds seemed to roll in to make for foggy conditions and the temperature dropped. The higher I went, the thicker the fog. Any thought of spectacular views had basically disappeared as I could see no vistas at all. ...
