Trip to Yudanaka to see the Snow Monkeys

A travel blog entry by kirstyollie

... in our new room which was a traditional Japanese ryokan. We tried some traditional Japanese green tea which we sipped whilst sitting on cushions on the floor.

At 5:30 Mr Yumoto took us over to a private onsen up the street which had great views of the city below. After being brave and stripping off (no clothes/swimwear are allowed to be worn when bathing in a Japanese onsen) we slipped in to the warmth of the onsen. It is exactly like being in ...

The other thing about onsen is that you very quickly get quite blasé about public nudity. You walk into the change room and there are 5 or 6 naked ...

Snow Monkeys here

After our onsen we returned to our room, got dressed and then went down to the foyer where wifi was available, to catch up on our blog and emails. We had a drink as well. Beer was the better choice. The local white wine was really dreadful, badly oxidised and tasted like sherry and the red though better, had very ...
