It was a beautiful ride, with a well maintained bike path in place all of the way, and a fun stop at a local beer garden (for some very tasty Weiss Beer) in Vilshofen about halfway along the way. Metal breastplates, knee guards, shin guards, helmets, swords, silver coins etc in perfect condition. The Romans settled here in 70 AD and called the place "Sor-viodurum" The Danube trail is well signposted, we have only lost it several times, mostly entering or leaving a city. ...

We initially wanted a hotel in Metten, but all the hotels in that small town were full. The hotel we ended up in was very nice, clean and spacious.
After we were settled we ...
