... outside in a rock pool onsen with the snow slowly billowing down. This onsen is by far the best we have visited. Feeling refreshed we headed out for a walk through the town. It's quite eerie walking the streets with minimal shops open and no one around. We figure everyone must be at work or school. Tasted lots of different sake at a distillery which also hosted some interesting art work. This afternoon some cheeky snow monkeys were Playing outside our window. ...

Caught the 9:25am express train ( not the bullet train - that would have taken us the long way but got us there 30 mins earlier at more expense, so we felt that it wasn't worth it. Rode in comfort. Train from Kyoto took 4 and a 1/2 hours to get to Nagano then we had to catch a 1 and a ...

This morning, once again, we woke up to a white snowy wonderland. We had a delicious Japanese breakfast of salmon, rice, miso soup, and a tofu, which filled prepped us for the day of snowboarding ahead. After breakfast, we got on the bus and headed to the slopes. We met up with our instructor for the day and headed off to the same beginner slope as yesterday. After a couple of runs on that slope, our instructor brought us onto ...
