... Pond is not precisely clear so we stopped at the visitors centre to have a look at the map. Besides looking at a map we did something very Japanese. Or I think it is very Japanese. Japanese people like a sausage on a stick. So the three of us sat outside the visitors centre and ate a sausage with fabric cheese in it and with different sauces. Momo and I went away for the weekend to Furano what is located more in land of Hokkaido. The world turns completely green after leaving Obihiro. Obihiro is surrounded by a beautiful mountain range. Momo takes the more scenic routes to drive to Furano instead of the motorway. It all looks amazing and the views are stunning! We stop on the top of the mountain to take some pictures from the viewpoint.

    Furano is just a scenic 2,5 ...

On the slopes we have experienced all weathers and conditions from blue skies and sunshine and crisp, crunchy snow to swirling arctic storms and two feet of powder. We have benefited from having excellent lessons from many different instructors, ...

... the snow man was a skating rink.

As we walked further in, we could see an ice restaurant followed by a couple of igloos. One igloo was an ice bar, while one of the others held classes to make snow flake strap. My favourite was the ice chapel as the blue illuminated ice chapel was beautiful.
