Spend around 4 nights in Matsumotta, used it as a base to do the Magome- Tsumago Trail, Kamikochi and the Wasabi farm

The hostel I stayed in, had a great escape plan, one route was the front door, the other through a window, unfortunately someone would need to cut back all the trees+ plans in order to have a quick escape :)

Also loved the advise for earthquakes: hid under the ...

Somewhere Over the Ocean

... assigned a center spot, but after the cabin doors were closed and no one claimed the window seat in our row, I immediately switched spots. My row mate and I have an unspoken agreement that he center seat is now our junk seat for our random stuff. ... Going on Princess lines they have repeats of the love boat as an option in the stateroom tv. I never used to watch it, but somehow onboard it made sender so watched episode after episode.

... back in Japan. I've not been here since 99 I worked out. Rachelle said it was 2000 she was last here. The memory is still remarkably fresh though. It's a very friendly and safe place. The food is delicious, the culture is curious and modern, yet ancient temples are always nearby. Anyway I'm being told to get going out of this cafe and to keep exploring.

I travelled to Matsumoto with an old friend from university. On the first day of the trip, we visited Matsumoto Castle and walked around the streets of Matsumoto, tasting some local foods including basashi, sanzokuyaki and sansei, local sake. On the next day, we drove along Venus Line, stopping at Utsukushigahara Highland and Mt Kirigamine.
