... wedding to be held on Hiva Oa. I put on the shells Natalie had given me which made things feel more special. The ceremony was usual in an unusual way but the whole room erupted in laughter as, whilst listing items in the marriage contract, the Mayor said that they must share the same bed and no others from now on.

... There were loads of Mosquitos there. We had worn long trousers shoes and socks instead of shorts and sandals to protect ourselves from the Mosquitos and we were pleased we had done so. Barbara managed to be bitten once but Sue escaped without any bites. The temple remains consisted of a rectangle of low stone walls and apparently that was all there was. It was open without a roof. ... and walked into the water to be introduced to one of the males, Lokahi. We were able to touch him on his back, his sides and his underside but we were not to touch his face on the basis that we wouldn't link it if strangers came up to us and spent time touching our face on several occasions each day. We spent about 15 minutes in the water with him while he spent some time near us so we could stroke him and also while he showed off with some leaps from the water at the other end ...

... Tahiti Safari Expedition (http://www.tahiti-safari.com/) met us outside the tourist information centre and we were off to explore the interior of Tahiti (CFP6300 each). We had two other couples with us, one from Chicago and another Toronto, both lovely couples and both boarding Oceania Marina for a 10 or 11 day French Polynesia cruise.
