... forecasters. Once I arrived at kanbayashi onsen, it was a steady 30/40 minute walk to the monkey park, a journey on which I realised how badly prepared I was for heavy rain like this. My trousers soon became drenched but thankfully my trusty rucksack kept all of my electronic devices dry (yeah I didn't think it through!). Due to the lack of information in my guidebook about the park, I didn't really know what to expect, so when i turned ...

... bought a couple of things. We drafted into Gondo Arcade Street, which is an enclosed mall area stretching down a whole street or two. We stopped after the first street as going any further would take us further away from the hotel.

Oh well, at least I managed to eat half of it first. From there, it was another ropeway down to ...

... a lot more. We stopped by a museum by the train station and just walked around the streets of Unazuki Onsen. Had a late lunch of sandwiches at the Mozart Cafe. There were no photos of the food except for the cakes. The others at the cafe said to order the sandwiches, so we did. When the plate came out, there were 8 pieces of sandwiches and we would just share the plate. Then three more plates of sandwiches tuned up. We ...

... were small local trains. The train driver was kind enough to back the train up a little so that we did not have to carry our bags up over the pedestrian crossing and then down again. We could go straight through from the doors on one side of the train to the other door and on to the platform on the other side.

The hotel van was there to collect our bags for us. It would be a 10 minute walk from the station to the ...
