... out to find the ‘Express’ bus to the park. To be clear, we had already traveled:
- 15 minute shuttle ride from the hotel to Shinjuku station.
- 20 minute train ride from Shinjuku station to Tokyo station.
- 90 minute shinkansen ride from Tokyo station to Nagano station.
- 45 minute bus ride to Kabayashi Onsen stop.
- 30 minute hike (up the mountain, through the woods and snow and mud) to ...
... the floor.
Our room overlooks the train line and Nagano train station, so we get to see the trains come and go, even the Shinkansen.
We take a walk around the area and find a supermarket to get some breakfast supplies.
What a great nights sleep in a real bed. We both slept really well and the noise from the trains did not bother us at all. Opening the blinds reveals a magnificent day with nothing but blue sky and ...

Back to the hotel for a quick pack up and then the long journey back to Tokyo airport with bus, bus, train, train, bus. All a lot of fun in Japan and that probably sums up Japan. ... finally got down to the bottom and re-charged in a really cool vegan restaurant called Roots. We said goodbye to Adam and then off for a final afternoon of family skiing and the kids were amazing. Sinead also managed the Olympic downhill section and the by the time Sinead gave up with 30 mins after a couple of nasty falls, the kids carried on with about 5 back to runs. ...

We took the gondola straight up to the top of the mountain and the kids were amazing. Straight down. The snow was good but a little icy. We did a few runs at the top of the mountain and then skied down to the bottom of the valley including a red run which the kids took in their stride.
There was a student skiing tournament so it was busy but ...
