... private tour for 4! The guide then took us up the mountains on a magical mystery tour. We had no idea of what was happening, but it was a lovely drive first past apple and grape orchards and then on very narrow steep roads to the ski fields including Nozowan. We saw hot springs belching steam (volcano country), natural springs with beautiful drinking water, and even a light sprinkling of snow. *Travel Tip: Train station lockers make storing luggage super easy when moving between hotels and having adventures at the same time. In Japan, however, these lockers are smaller than those in Europe. We do not recommend traveling with large bags since they will not fit in most train station lockers. ...

... There are still hundreds of people here, and we take a few hours to see the temples. Now as its a nice sunny day, we walk the streets for a few hours discovering lots of cool little lanes and shops. Nagano is a really nice town, spotlessly clean and full of extremely polite people.
Tomorrow we are taking the Shinkensan to a town called Kanazawa, on the west coast of Japan. My only concern is the weather, i think we are in for some rainy days

... are not as a high as the Alps the snow seems excellent.

The hotel at the airport was, well an airport hotel so not much write home about… but Japan on the other hand…

Can’t wait to chat to our Japanese friends back at JSK to explain what a country they’ve got.

I hope the kids remember and savour it as there won’t be many more interesting and fun countries they ...
