... near the University where Ildiko has been studying Hungarian. Got to the museum just in time to see lovely paintings and a film on the putzas. After dropping Ildiko at the station, we found our hotel after several trips around a block and through an archway to a bank!

... pension is. We follow him very gratefully to the Pension Fontana, a simple but clean 'pensuela' which serves us a very adequate Italian sups. It's in the old part of the town which consists of one main square and a few churches with other buildings around it. The newer part of the town is uninspiring, depressing, industrialized and shabby, reflecting its communist past as a mining and smelting centre. Our journey is almost over and today we visited more family. We started off the day by seeing my mothers aunt Ilonka, who was the wife of her uncle George. She was happy to see us and we were remembering the last time I was at her house as a young boy twenty years ago picking peppers from the garden. ... on my part! They also had ironed chicken legs on the menu. The mind boggles.
Mia (our new friend!) then came out to the car to take photos of it and us & to wave us off!

36 degrees by now, thank goodness for air con, although we had tried to keep it a secret from some of the others in their 'vintage vehicles' not wanting to gloat (heehee!) but someone asked us straight out so we had to 'fess up!

... to the Roncs and enjoyed some live music. It was a 2 man band, but they were great! They played a large variety of covers, from The Foo Fighters to The Beatles. It was a great night and we learned that they play there every Wednesday. I was so proud of Maggie and I last night though, we were going to take a cab home and we asked how much it would cost and the guy tried to completely rip us off, but at this point ...
