We drove 3 and half hours on nothing but rock (small boulders), gravel and dirt roads. This is a major highway, Ruta Nacional 40 which traverses Argentina from north to south and is part of the PaAm Highway) and none of it was paved. But once again the scenery was a lot ...

Of the tens and tens of places we have stayed, only a couple have left us wanting). Through her diligent surfing, she found out there was a few average looking places in town, and one highly rated but fairly costly hotel which everyone raved ...

Desert, vines, hitchhikers and a nice town

15 December We left all the vineyards and Started traveling towards Cachi.  We drove through Paso de las Flechas. The landscape changed again and we were in amongst more interesting rock formations. There was one mountain that looked like dozens of arrow heads reaching for the sky. The road had turned to gravel, but we were used to this now after the 6 hours of gravel the other day, and the road here was in much better condition. We got out a few times ...
