We left our lovely hotel for the town of Cachi. We drove 120 miles today, but it took us as little over 5 hours to reach our destination. It's hard to describe the road today. We drove 3 and half hours on nothing but rock (small boulders), gravel and dirt roads. This is a major highway, Ruta Nacional 40 which traverses Argentina from north to south and is part of the PaAm Highway) and none of it was paved. But once again the scenery was a lot ...

My scepticism proved to be ill-founded and short-lived, once we had checked in we were led through to a large courtyard, a continuous single-storey building around the outside. In the courtyard a flowerbed boasted a selection of heather, rosemary and roses amongst other plants I don’t know. We were shown to our ...

15 December We left all the vineyards and Started traveling towards Cachi.  We drove through Paso de las Flechas. The landscape changed again and we were in amongst more interesting rock formations. There was one mountain that looked like dozens of arrow heads reaching for the sky. The road had turned to gravel, but we were used to this now after the 6 hours of gravel the other day, and the road here was in much better condition. We got out a few times ...
