... documentaries. As I approached the onsen, the Macaques were staggeringly comfortable with human presence as they scurried past my ankles as I crossed the small bridge to the main pool. This allowed for some great up close photo opportunities. The highlights were probably seeing the incredibly close and protective bond of the mother and child and also seeing a full on chase between the two biggest Macaques all around the ...

The view was different in the rain and the water was no longer turquoise but brown. The leaves were turning golden, even from yesterday. There was a lot more water in the river and there were a lot more waterfalls.

Because of the rain, we ...

... derailed somewhere in Kyushu and there was another in Tokyo. Kyoto Station had flooded and we would not have been able to go to Naoshima Island. This is the first time we have had any problems with the typhoon. We had already missed Typhoon Phanfone. Hopefully, with Kurobe being in the mountains, we would miss the worst of Typhoon Vongfong.

We arrived earlier than expected as we had not spent any time in Toyama. The last ...
