Tonight we are staying outside of Aalborg. We travelled to Skagen which is located at the northern tip of the Jutland peninsula. It is a major shipping centre and fishing town. During the summer it is also a tourist town. Very quaint houses - likely many are vacation rentals. Then we headed back south to Aalborg where we will stay overnight before taking the ferry to Sweden tomorrow ...

... of those serendipitous moments, where without a chance meeting with some locals, we would never have known about the memorial which was so closely associated to us.

I absolutely adore Aalborg! It is not a tourist part of Denmark by any means but it is wonderful. The people are so lovely and friendly, it is very safe and clean, the night life is great, it is beautiful and the food!...... I don't think the food gets any better than it does in Denmark!

I have been here twice already but plan on going many more times and hope, one day to go on a more permanent basis :-)

... said that this would be a good place to continue towards Karlsruhe as this is the connecting road between Stuttgart, Heilbronn and Karlsruhe.

It had been a long day and wanted to find a place to put up our tent and sleep. The first night of the trip we slept next to a corn field, hoping that the farmer would not come and yell at us in the morning. The sky was clear and stars were bright - it was nice!

See our route for Day 1 on the ...
