... speaks very little English, unfortunately we don't speak Japanese... We receive all kind of vouchers for dinner, breakfast, onsen elsewhere as well as information in Japanese. The snow monkeys were amazing! They have no fear of tourists, despite insinuations of their ferociousness. You can walk right up to many of them without them scampering away. We were surprised by how many baby monkeys there were — dozens! ... Macaque monkeys. They are everywhere, must be 100 or more from little babies to adults. The adults are about 3 foot tall. They are busy foraging in the snow for food. We are almost invisible to the monkeys, as they are not bothered at all by people. You can get up very close to them and they will even come and sit next to you.

For the final day, we got up and had our normal breakfast. Sam laughed that the HP had been unopened the whole season and since Thomas arrived, we'd just finished the bottle!
