... locally produced. We walked along the water, admiring the little fishing boats, all painted bright blue and yellow and green, each having a pair of eyes painted on the bow.
We made it back to the ship in plenty of time to dress for dinner. As we left the port after dark, the forts and walls were lit up. Simply magical.
Will try to send some pics with this.
Tomorrow a sea day. home Thursday.
I've just popped over to Malta for a day & a bit (as you do!) to say a quick hello / goodbye to my parents (and bring them lots of goodies over for the last time in a while).
The weather is a little warmer than the UK, but not as warm as it's going to be in a week's time (ha ha ha).
Anyway, I'll keep this blog short so ciao for now!

... Again it had the most amazing city walls, a well preserved Gothic church and a magnificent Cathedral. Ryan’s neck was quite sore here so we decided to indulge and take a horse and cart ride around all the old cobble streets of the city, in every city since, when we see a horse and cart, Ryan declares he has a sore neck!!!!!! We so understand why many of the British population choose this distination as a holiday destination.

... before I board the plane, that's for sure!! Mind you, I wonder if it's a different price for a number one or a number two....and how will they know what you've done?!!! OK, enough of Ryanair bashing. The flight was a pretty easy three hours and we did arrive 20 minutes early to be fair - the pilot must have known a short cut I suppose. When we arrived at Malta airport, the bus services had ceased for the ...
Birkirkara, Malta vickersontour... we would be staying in a hotel for the first two nights because the students from last semester hadn't moved out yet. So, we were shuttled off to a five start hotel where we had to pay 15 euro for four hours of internet. Luckily, there were a bunch of us that were staying there, so we all got to know each other a little bit. After getting our rooms, we met with one of Jenna's friends that is studying here for the entire year, and she showed us where important ...
St Julians, Malta viskiki... in the world, predating the Egyptian pyramids by 500 years. I had seen some of the stones and statues discovered from these dig sites in the archaeological museum in Valletta but I was very keen to see the dig sites themselves. It was amazing walking through the site and the temple that was older than I could really comprehend. I got a lot out of the visit and was amazed how well sections of the temple had been preserved after all this time. Our final stop was a place ...
Mosta, Malta andrew.galea... more of an Arab influence here than in Sicily, and it's obvious in everything from architecture to food (naturally, get to that in a minute), to language and culture. Here we stopped for a traditional pastizzi filled with ricotta or mushy peas, and tea, which is poured condensed form, hot water is added and then milk. YUM. It's at this locals hangout though, where all the old guys in the neighborhood hang out and presumably ...
Mosta, Malta ashygag... were just standing around doing nothing. Kids were going around just being a menace and not a whole lot of tourists. Gozo had much better town atmosphere with little tourists. The Hypogeum was amazing. It was temperature sealed and the climate was suppose to be controlled which I wasn't sure how well they were doing that. It was humid and they had set up lights and walkway/bridge was setup through it made of aluminum or something. I guess they did that to ...
