... Alison bought a small leather change purse for €2 to replace her stolen wallet. Then it was back to enjoy the pool at the timeshare. We spent a very relaxing day enjoying each others company, sunbathing in the heat of the day, before heading back to Girona airport with Chris & Milly at night, so that they could catch their flight back to London. Our farewells weren’t too teary, as we knew we would see them again in two weeks, in Auckland.

The timeshare (Port de Rei) is situated a short distance out of the town of L'Escala. ... wondering around. It is more of a Pension. An old lady runs the place. She doesn’t speak any English so our discussion is difficult but I end up securing a room.

Collioure is another artist town for such artists as Matisse, Picasso, Derain and Dalí. They do a great job of showing paintings with the inspiration as a backdrop. A castle from the late 1700’s dominates the landscape. This would be another nice place to hang with a girlfriend but as a single guy, 1 day is enough.

... the hotel's location was stunning and our room was right above the crashing surf. We enjoyed walking the streets of the town and having dinner and breakfast along the bay. Now, we will head further into the Languedoc region of France. Our goal is to visit several of the "most beautiful villages" which is an award that the government of France has bestowed on 30+ villages across the country. Apparently the Languedoc region has 10 of these villages!.
