... was impressive. We got some beautiful views of the city from the top tower. We also had our first Japanese tea ceremony! We learned etiquette and enjoyed our biscuit and matcha tea! We are definitely taking some home! Kumamon is a black bear and he's Kumamotos mascot. He was created in 2010 as a way to promote the city. ... to a huge shopping and dining complex called Canal City. The complex is comprised of the Grand Hyatt Hotel that is surrounded by 4 levels of shops in 3 buildings. In the centre area there is a huge fountain that displays a music and water art show every hour. It was quite spectacular and entertaining to watch. It was a typical Japanese affair, no shoes inside, your given a bag to carry them in during your visit, it was again very busy but very organised with people guided around pinch points to prevent overcrowding.
