      ... for the local soba noodles with mountain spring vegetables (we'd already seen fresh fern curls in the vegetable shop) - on the way we came across a Japanese doll shop - these dolls are used for a variety of purposes and ceremonies.       ... only to find that we'd lost Nia's camera. We took the room apart but it was nowhere to be seen. We concluded it had been packed into a bag. We left the hotel in a taxi rather later than planned for our 10am train and only just remembered once the taxi set off that we'd left valuables in the hotel safe! We got to the station with 5 mins to spare and found our seats right at the front of the train - 8 carriages ...

      ... during the week, but gets very busy on the weekends. Such a nice nice place where life is pretty laid back. Great place to get acquainted with Japanese village lifestyle. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, even if out hotel room was the smallest room so far. No kidding it would be no more than 10 square metres. Still beats a capsule hotel.
      Tomorrow we are taking the bus to Nagoya at 12pm. Will take 2.5 hours to get to Nagoya. I have a feeling the wet weather will follow us to Nagoya

      ... it was a delight to sit back and have confidence and be in comfort.
      The bus stops every two hours for about 20 minutes and, even though he had no English, the bus driver showed us a little clock, moving the hands to the appropriate times for us to return to the bus.
