... br> We decided to take the train back to Oita, and we think we might have accidentally taken ourselves into a first class carriage. A very pleasant trip back to Oita sitting in quite luxurious seats. It could be we are getting used to the tiny seats on some of the buses.

Despite the less than pleasant weather, we had a fantastic time and arrived back at our hotel ready for a nap.

It has been a relaxing few days. Tomorrow we head for Nagasaki.

At the airport we found our capsule hotel, a cleverly designed row of body sized pods with a duvet, a pillow, a light, a speaker emitting the sound of the sea and a blind to pull down once your in. On a lighter note, this is Hagi a town filled with pottery and orange groves. A place to sooth the soul with beauty. Bizarrely there was a gigantic modern building dedicated to ceramics in this quiet little island town. Incredible professional pottery in the museum and shops overflowing with more pots. No vanilla ice cream in this town, only orange. Made a change from seeing green tea ice ...

Nagasaki and the Atomic Bomb Museum

Sorry if the photos posted makes you cry. The immense suffering caused by the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki surely only serves some kind of purpose if people hear the suffering and the world moves forward with nuclear disarmament. Around 75000 people died almost instantly when the bomb hit and another 80000 people suffered and continued to suffer the horrendous after effects of the devastation. The photos posted, explain more than I can possibly say. The Atomic ...
