    Today we are taking a tour which will be in Japanese and Maki will translate. We are quite surprised to be the only people on the tour and so it is just us, a guide and driver.     Today we are catching the bullet train to Kokura and then a local train on to Beppu. Maki's children are both at university in Beppu which is a city on the island of Kyushu famous for the hot springs that are very active in this area. On leaving the hotel we were quite shocked to discover there was quite heavy snow falling which meant that the taxis were not running so we trudged through the snow dragging our bags.
