... Unfortunately, we were probably a week or two too late as the autumn leaves have all pretty much fallen off. It was peaking on the way up to Kamikochi as it was slightly warmer there. ... museum(free entry with castle ticket) which had some decent samurai armour, swords and guns. I then had a wander around Matsumoto which like Nagano moves at a much slower pace than Tokyo and for that reason has a much more relaxed feel.

I then headed back to my hostel in Nagano and had a rest ahead of visiting mt fuji tomorrow and the 4 hour train journey.
