... excellent, great energy. Dinner time and it's Italian night so all the wait staff are dressed in striped tops and scarves. They look great. Our 2 boys, Jeffrey and Dom are both from the Philippines and are lovely. We have an early start tomorrow and the captain will have to go full speed ahead as we were 45 minutes late leaving Kagoshima because some passengers had not turned up to customs despite being paged over the PA system numerous times. When we arrived on the island we decided to hire some bikes and cycle the 6km trip to the viewing point on the side of the volcano. ... boat is dashing away. Would have to shop for new cap and goggle later in the afternoon mall shopping trip. Left my beloved silicon cap and YMCA side snap goggles by the pool outdoor shower last night, 10 min later they were gone. Lost & Found was no help!

... Kagoshima in the evening. No museums or temples though as they were all closed.
Day 2 in Kagoshima and it was an early morning bus to Chiran - about 40 km south of Kagoshima. This town is known for its collection of restored samurai houses, tea (green of course) and the Kamikaze Peace museum.
