Myoko to Kyoto- a 4 train journey

A travel blog entry by teenza on Feb 09, 2015

Overnight we had 35 cm of snow so the view was white white and white. We woke to the sound of snow machines clearing things up a bit. After brekky we checked out, getting a lovely set of chopsticks as a Thankyou for staying and got dropped at the train for our 4-5 hrs or so of travel to get to Kyoto. The first train was down to Nagano then we booked seats for the rest of the journey to Nagoya on the Shinano then the rest of the way on the second ...

We got dropped into town for a wander but cut it short a bit cos the drizzle began and then turned to snows. I'm lying in our warm room and have ...

Marina was lovely enough to drop us over to the train rather than us having to go all the way back down to Nagano and back up on the other line. The train had few other tourist looking mobs on it heading up to the ski resorts. It was a pretty journey up through the hills with the snow getting deeper and deeper. We ...

Last night when we were chatting , I mentioned that it was forecast to snow, that was dismissed, no it won't snow. During the night I got up to visit the loo and it was happily snowing away and looked like it had been for a while. So pretty. Today was to be Scotty's choice of activity and after a homemade brekky we got the train back down to Nagano to see the Zenko-Ji temple. The forecast was for about 2* max so we were pretty ...
