... leave me alone so I can start eating. Boy did he prove me wrong. The chef passionately explained the 3 ways to eat tempura to us. First just dipping a sweetened soy sauce which is the only way we do it. Second is dipping the tempura in salt. Third is with a salt and curry powder mix. Which dip to use is determined by the type of tempura which the chef told us his recommendation for each piece. Although everything was fried, it did not feel heavy at all. We've spent one night in Matsumoto, at a nice little hostel that gave us bikes for free! So we explored Matsumoto, which is not very big and very "bike-friendly", and visited Matsumoto Castle.
