So we left. We are now in Takayama, a small mini Kyoto in the Japanese Alps. Tokyo is an amazing place. For example I discovered today that the Yamanote line, the train line we were taking everyday, is the busiest train line in the world. Every day it transport about 4(!) million people in 29 stations only. There are a lot of things we ...

... them. The rest of my free time was spent walking around the city. I walked up a hill in the west part of the city to get some good lookouts. I then headed to the east side and Shiroyama Park. ... work of ours.
At the top we spent a little while sitting on a bench looking out over the town before heading over to the park. There in front of the entrance to the park was a big sign in Japanese. There wasn't another person up there to help out and for all we knew this sign said that the park is closed or unaccessible and as it was already 4pm and we know everything closes early here we decided not to risk it. For all we knew the sign said that there was ...

... kindly gave us a couple umbrellas as this is one of the items not in our travelling arsenal.
Japanese people are very nice and considerate, except when it come to pedestrians, puddles and cars. It seemed like they swerved for them to make sure we got hit! On our way into town we passed a couple clothes and shoe outlets which we popped in to see if we could find Kayley some replacement flip flops. We had no luck and carried on to the old town centre. We were beginning ...
