... and we need help finding the Japanese restaurant. As it turns out we are the only people in the Japanese restaurant, the first course of our Kaiseki dinner is already waiting for us on our table. One of the courses is pork Shabu-Shabu, quite tasty! Also some sashimi, tempura, broiled fish, egg custard and of course rice and soup at the end. ... out to find the ‘Express’ bus to the park. To be clear, we had already traveled:

  • 15 minute shuttle ride from the hotel to Shinjuku station.
  • 20 minute train ride from Shinjuku station to Tokyo station.
  • 90 minute shinkansen ride from Tokyo station to Nagano station.
Now we needed to take:
  • 45 minute bus ride to Kabayashi Onsen stop.
  • 30 minute hike (up the mountain, through the woods and snow and mud) to ...

... the floor.
Our room overlooks the train line and Nagano train station, so we get to see the trains come and go, even the Shinkansen.
We take a walk around the area and find a supermarket to get some breakfast supplies.
