This morning i got rudely awakened by the innkeeper. They have some kind of wake up service but that consists of turning on the light which shines directly into your eyes. I got up and packed all my stuff in my backpack and went to the bathroom to wash myself. But it was closed and when i asked the guy at the reception he told me that there's no bathing in the morning. So i just briefly washed myself. In the meantime they had made breakfast and a riceball for me to eat for ...

... up words if he needed to. He was a bit shy but we had a good time and some good laughs. :-) We said our goodbyes halfway through the park as he had to go back home and i was heading for the hut that would be my home for the night.

We exited Minakami station amid a blizzard. It added to the excitement of finally being here. We were now in central Japan- the sea equidistant in all directions and it felt much further from Tokyo that it really was, about 150km to the north. The three hour journey had taken us from a busy 21st cetrury metropolis to a silent, snowy, desolate station town. A man holding a laminated sheet emerged forward through the snow. The sign said 'Takaragawa', the onsen for which we were ...

Caught train from Tokyo to Nagano station. Took 1 hour and a half. Then took local train to togironozawa onsen which took at hour. As we go deeper into the mountains the snow gets thicker and excitement grows. The magic of snow is reflected in some school kids eyes who are I am guessing on a school camp. Although I can not understand what they are saying their smiles, laughter and eager stares out the window show that the snow is exciting not ...
