Sundays are full on family days in Japan, and we are lucky to have a chance for a full extended family outing to Harajuku - youth culture shopping mecca. Tim bows out as he preps for a teaching exam, but May, Amy and Haruko join the three of us and Takakosan for an 8-member party excursion to the busiest of busy shopping streets -- Takeshita Dorii. If we don't lose someone it will be a miracle.

A small stop on our journey took us to a small town called Otsuki, a small ...

... Stock for getting me in at the last minute for a jab in the shoulder joint. I didn't want to say anything during the holiday in case I jinxed myself but after 3 weeks of no improvement in the shoulder, I thought that my snowboarding experience was going to be seriously limited but in the end, after the cortisone, it was like back to new and up to taking a hammering once more. Looking forward to seeing you all at home soon back in sunny Australia. Happy Australia Day to you ...
