    ... rests and I take in the Grandberry outlet scene -- a now fabulous Sunday destination for Japanese families has put Minami Machida on the map (and express route!).

    An Ukai Tei teppanyaki feast is next. We are treated to an amazing meal that exhausted and jetlagged Lily mostly sleeps through (miso soup and rice notwithstanding). The grounds of Ukai Tei offer jaw-droppingly impressive scenes both inside and out and are a truly memorable last evening in Japan.

    ... and then took a walk to Tokyo Dome. Andreas wanted to check out the entrance fees to the amusement park there. With that done, we went for sushi, into the "exciting" book store for a peek (yes, their sign was accually labled "the exciting bookstore") and then, home. Goodnight for now.     ... where we grabbed lunch. We found bread! I was keen to try a selection of things, one of them I'm still unsure what it was - a mince stir fry within a donut, with a dumpling style pastry encasing it all. Very odd!     ... I fell first turn. Now that was over we had some great runs down the bowl, through the trees to the bottom of the run and then did it again using the lifts. Finished off with hot coffee from the machines and later out for a traditional dinner. It is a relaxed pace, so we are up not too early and we packed ourselves into the vehicle Lars has rented to head to Tsugaike Kogen resort.     ... crumbs) and after two more mountain tops I stopped for some rest. The reward was a magnificent view of Fuji-san, the highest mountain of Japan. Completely cloudless, better than any post card image I ever saw. I'm definitely going to climb it this summer, no matter how crowded it might be.
