    Day two in Kinoskai started in much the same way as the first had finished - an elaborate meal, served to us in our room. Breakfast consisted of a piece of salmon, a soft boiled egg, some Japanese style fish cakes, some aubergine, tofu, rice and bizarrely two slices of brightly coloured Swiss roll!     ... we were served an early dinner. Our meals at this ryokan would be served to us in our room. Our waiter, it later transpired, was actually from Germany, but his parentage was Japanese, so he was here to improve his Japanese and English on a work placement. He seemed pleased to have European guests to chat to and for our part, it was really good to have someone we could ask lots of questions about the food.     ... middle. Then you put the coat on over the top. It was quite warm. Once settled and tea was drunk we went down stairs to the reception area for a few drinks. The hotel has its own microbrewery so Noel was in his element. We tried them all. At 5pm we had booked a private onsen as all the baths in the town are separate. It was so nice.
