      ... a golden statue of a politician, Sugawara Michizane, who was a high ranking politician some 1,100 years ago. He was highly respected and admired for his pureness of heart and his integrity. I did idly wonder whether we will see a similar statue in the image of our Tony A, complete with life saving cap and budgie smugglers, or perhaps in lycra - food for thought?
      Tomorrow we go back to Tokyo and then onto Takayama.

      Hopefully not too cold, it is getting absolutely freeeeezing here!!! Autumn was dreamy! The vividly firey coloured leaves here are stunning, but the moment it turned to winter, instantly changed, BAM! Punch In the face of icy fists of Japan winter. Colder each day and I'm running out of warm layers to add. May need to buy a scarf! I knew it would get chilly but I really underestimated how quickly winter would kick in.
