... rests and I take in the Grandberry outlet scene -- a now fabulous Sunday destination for Japanese families has put Minami Machida on the map (and express route!).

An Ukai Tei teppanyaki feast is next. We are treated to an amazing meal that exhausted and jetlagged Lily mostly sleeps through (miso soup and rice notwithstanding). The grounds of Ukai Tei offer jaw-droppingly impressive scenes both inside and out and are a truly memorable last evening in Japan.

Managed to get some great footage on the Gopro but I'll save that for the home video. The video footage on the blog site is from my iPhone. It's much easier to upload in to my app. Hopefully you get an idea of how picturesque the scenery is in Japan and why we keep going back. A big thank you ...

... enough to have the classic siting of the kamoshika on a knoll staring at us. As it was getting warmer, no time was wasted getting out of the steep areas. Finally, we did a variety of skiing skinned and unskinned, and survived the "luge run" a skinny slightly icy track out to the road where taxi pick up is common. And now a word or two about the Kamoshika or Japanese Serow. They are the national symbol of Japan and are preserved. They were being threatened but now ...
