The water there was very hot (around 42C) so we did not stay for a very long time. Also there was a fence for security so that one could not simply jump, so the view was restricted. I met Koji, whilst having dinner in a restaurant. We decided to do a road trip to Kamikochi and the sightseeing spots around the highlands.

We finished the day off, by soaking in an outdoor hot spring. What more can you want!?! :)

I will notice that I really like rice fields (I you haven't already noticed that from pictures earlier this trip) and I felt in love with Japanese temples, houses and gardens. I hope I don't bore you with my pictues ...

... wooden bar and tiny tables. We felt really out of place in this locals only joint, but it was pretty fun to sip on our beers and people watch. (Of course we know the Japanese word for beer). Biro.

While in Matsumoto, we made sure to visit the ancient village of Narai-juku, which was a 45 minute train ride away. We were sure to double check the schedule to make sure we wouldn’t be stuck there for hours on end (like that day at the ...
