      ... house overlooking a beautiful garden - felt like we were back in time in the old, traditional Japan.

      After catching japanese birds on the camera we stopped at one of Matsue's sweet / souvenir shops - where every item looked so unfamiliar, we have never felt so strange in the sweet shop before!
      We have obviously bought few items including tea made of a cherry blossom!

      Today was our day at Kashima Junior High School. Tayla, Devon and Ethan all turned up with smiles on their faces, so that is always a good sign! kashima JHS is a small middle school with only 160 students. The school, however, is pretty big. It is three stores with a huge gymnasium, library, martial arts area and even a sumo ring! First thing we went to the school assembly and watched the ...

I thought he was just feeling a bit run down, but then I realized he might really mean it.       Today we moved to Matsue. We had to catch a train to Osaka station, then to shin- Osaka, then find the bullet train. We finally got to ride on the bullet train! Then we caught a train across the country to matsue. This train ride was 2 and a half hours so most people listened to music or slept.       Lessons learned here are : Always call for flight information early morning when you wake up in case there are changes. Use the shuttle bus to get around. When arriving in the terminal, always report in as present prior to rollcall. Look for a travel buddy to save money on lodging.
