      It was a great day at monkey park, the monkeys were very entertaining and well worth the effort to get here.

      Overnight we had 35 cm of snow so the view was white white and white. We woke to the sound of snow machines clearing things up a bit. After brekky we checked out, getting a lovely set of chopsticks as a Thankyou for staying and got dropped at the train for our 4-5 hrs or so of travel to get to Kyoto.       ... huge big snow flakes falling down, it has eased up a bit now but was lovely, such a novelty coming from the tropics to snow. A big on of us got dropped in for dinner at 6. We ended up at a ramen place for warm soup and a beer. We sat with a young NZ guy here for the skiing. After this he took us to a cute little bar where we had to try the sake cocktails.
