Slowly finding time to update my blog. Sunday was a slowish day, had a sleep in before heading to a World Culture Day event were I met Yuri, a nice Japanese girl who wanted to practice English with me and asked to be my friend. We've now sent a couple of emails but without Caitlin to translate, the conversation doesn't go far. Afterwards we went and ordered far too much Chinese but had yummy dumplings so it was all good.

We tasted Akafuku rice cake, Matsusaka beef skewer, and sweet ...

this time of year. We visited the Okitama shrine from which there is a good
view on Meoto Iwa, the “wedded rocks”. The rocks represent husband and wife and are linked by a rope (shimenawa rope). At certain time of years, Mount Fuji can
even be seen between the rocks. This was not the case for us as it ...

... coloured wood like Pine. Now the castle was next, at the top or observation deck a 360 degree gave glimpses of the city. As we made our way down each floor, more and more history was told with stories, drawings, paintings and actual artifacts. It was one of the highlights of my trip so far. Wanting to get out of the warm sun, a labyrinth of twists and turns through the various shops, brought us to a place to enjoy some ...
