... castelo de Okazaki, o local onde Tokugawa nasceu, o Shogun responsável pela unificação do Japão conseguindo um período de uns 250 anos de paz. O castelo é pequeno (quando comparado com outros) mas é belo, no entanto a área em volta ainda consegue ser mais. Pena que estava tudo sobretudo em Japonês, gostava de ter lido mais sobre as diferentes partes do castelo.

Slowly finding time to update my blog. Sunday was a slowish day, had a sleep in before heading to a World Culture Day event were I met Yuri, a nice Japanese girl who wanted to practice English with me and asked to be my friend. We've now sent a couple of emails but without Caitlin to translate, the conversation doesn't go far. Afterwards we went and ordered far too much Chinese but had yummy dumplings so it was all good.

After catching a bullet train to Nagoya to meet Caitlin we made the journey back to her place and talked about all the exciting things we could get up to. Whilst she was at work I spent the morning catching up on sleep before heading down the road to the Louvre Sculpture Museum. My fingers and nose felt like they were going to fall off so I'll have to make sure I keep them covered.

My mom and I had a great trip to Mie on 2 days 1 night. On Day 1, it was raining. So we just drove to Sakakibara Onsen and enjoyed the hot spring. On our way, we had Sanuki udon noodle soup and it was pretty good. Actually, we tried to go to Aoyama Highland on the day, but the way that the receptionist told was blocked. Japan, we made a beginners’ error of not boarding the right train initially,
getting confused between all the different types of train services (rapid,
super-rapid, etc). At least we were going in the right direction and we met a
very nice Japanese man on the way who was even offering to pay the ticket price
difference for us, incredible!
