    We went into one of the local eating places for lunch. They have a system where you buy a ticket for what you want to eat - there are pictures available to help you with your choice. We were helped by the waitress who worked there, who was from Nepal, living in Japan while studying Japanese. she told us she worked 50 hours a week and considered herself well paid.     ... shinjuku again(one of the craziest places on earth) to get to the airport. It's full of pachinko slot arcade halls, anime characters, flashing lights and a whole lot of noise! It was horrifying to see the scale of industrialisation in Toyko. Didn't manage to capture it in a photo as the buildings and roads and bridges and factories go on for miles and miles.     On a lighter note, this is Hagi a town filled with pottery and orange groves. A place to sooth the soul with beauty. Bizarrely there was a gigantic modern building dedicated to ceramics in this quiet little island town. Incredible professional pottery in the museum and shops overflowing with more pots. No vanilla ice cream in this town, only orange. Made a change from seeing green tea ice ...
