... us was "Grandma and Grandpa’s" bakery. They made the most delicious bread products. We liked them so much that we headed back at the end of the day to get more but sadly they were sold out! The little red building seemed a bit out of place here in Japan – seemed more like something you would find in Chemainus!

It’s been a lovely 3 day stay here in Yufuin – next stop is Shikoku, the last of the main southern islands we will be ...

For now, our beds have been made and it is time to plan for tomorrow. Good night ...

... up close because the tide was low. We then decided to hike up to the top of the island. Wow! This was a great hike, the prettiest hike I've ever done. Along the way we visited other shrines and we were able to witness a private ceremony. Cool! We continued to hike up to 2000 feet on stairs alone!!!! It was tough, but we did it. And it was worth it! The views from the observatory were incredible. We decided to take the cable car down and that was also cool! Our next stop ...

... suit. Yes folks, that means NAKED! (To my mensita friends- remember San Francisco). Lucky for Linus and I there was no one at the onsen!!!!!!! Now there was a bath for men and one for women. Double lucky because not only were we the only ones there, but we each had our own bath to ourselves!!!! Now, we also had a sand bath, but we got to wear a robe for this one. We laid on black sand, then the ladies there covered us up to our necks ...
