... not down.. skis go down! once this was explained to us in broken english by the chairlift operator, (who resorted too walking his fingers down his arm and hen pointing at us) we tucked up our poles and shoes and wandered down the slopes much to the dismay of the junior ski team......pffffffffffffffft as they swooshed past and giggling waves as the chair lift took them back past us......i swear they were competing to see who could lap us the most amount of ...

The highlight is definitely the sake testing. The non premium sake tasting Is free. The few premium sake they do charge a nominal fee. For 150 yen, I tasted a full to the brim cup of the most expensive premium sake. Which we eventually bought. Think it was about 5940 yen. ... of running into bears did cross my mind a few times. It didn't help that there were no other trekkers that we could see or hear.

After reaching the 7th station, we enthusiastically started on the hike to the peak or the 9th station. This adrenaline rush was quickly overtaken when I realise that the trek up was not going to be a walk in the park! The climb was steep and the stones had to be stepped ...

... nothing about this man made pond compared to the other natural landscapes you could observe on the island.

Then following the bicycle trail, you would experience a cycling as it ought to be - with no traffic, pedestrians, or even other cyclists. With the alpine flora, cool summer Hokkaido breeze, the cycling experience is one of the best I have ever had, and probably will have for a long time to come.
