... It provided, however, a relaxing way to enjoy the setting sun amidst the mountainous scenery ("Japanese Alps"). We caught the evening shinkansen from Nagano to Kanazawa.

*Travel Tip: Train station lockers make storing luggage super easy when moving between hotels and having adventures at the same time. ... There are still hundreds of people here, and we take a few hours to see the temples. Now as its a nice sunny day, we walk the streets for a few hours discovering lots of cool little lanes and shops. Nagano is a really nice town, spotlessly clean and full of extremely polite people.

For the last day we decided we had to travel up the valley to Happo, site of the 1998 Japanese Winter Olympics. The day was absolutely perfect and one of the best days skiing I've done with perfect skiing conditions. We met with Adam and warmed up on the green runs and the bottom before headed up the mountain. We did a few green runs before finally getting to the top. There was ...

Simon who was the father of the Australian family gave us a tip that the 3hr private lesson was the same price as 2 kids at ski school for 4 hours so we booked up a lesson and headed up the valley to Iniwate. Adam was a real cool instructor. He was an engineer in the Yukon but during the winter not much happens so he agrees unpaid leave with his company and does a 3 month ski season somewhere ...
