        Today was a trainy day. We went from Beppu to Kagoshima. For this we took a normal train along the coast to the north-east from Beppu. In Kokura we got on the shinkansen to the south and rode to near Kagoshima, the last bit was in a normal train again.         while about 200 years ago the Satsuma Clan jung students embarked on a Journey to Great Britain for them it was an Eye opener which transformed Japan to the Western Civilizations. However today that spirit is somewhat missing mainly in the Language speaking department. The Museum while nice and well presented is lacking basics. The Audio Guided Tour did not work.... No Wifi in the Museum otherwise google would have provided that Service....no English speaking Tour ...

        ... the old 1048 Convention based License!!!!! Not being easily discouraged went to an JAF Office to have my current License Translated to fulfill their Requirements.....only took a half a day and 3000 Yen..... It's all relative and overall actually a great opportunity to learn more about Japanese ...

        ... fairly loudly on her cell phone. A few seconds later a police car raced by. As we turned to walk up the tiny road along the canal back to the hotel an ambulance turned onto the road and started heading toward us with his lights on. There really wasn't enough room for the ambulance to pass us while we walked on the road so I moved off the road and onto the curb.
