Last day but the best day

Today was a total mixed bag of weather but the sun shone bright in the afternoon. Everyone really put in a great effort today and ventured onto bigger and better slopes. Our instructors were very patient and super helpful. Some students were still out riding till 6:00 pm tonight!! We enjoyed a traditional Japanese dinner ...

... of us. We then kept trying to go around him in deep powder (which slows you down and makes you lose momentum), and every time we did we would grind to a stop and Micko would pass us again. Pat was shouting at him to move over, but he didn't seem to hear. Pat and Micko are a bit like an old married couple, and Micko has obviously learned to tune Pat out completely. It was very funny and frustrating at the same time.

... The powder is beautiful, light and fluffy just like whipped cream. Skiing on it feels so smooth, just like floating. I have invited myself to ski with a bunch of the guys on the trip: Alyssa's husband Pat, and his friends Micko, Dylan and Stephen. So this week primarily has consisted around new Japanese experiences -

  • remembering to take ones shows off when entering anywhere
  • do not trust the pictures on Japanese menus. especially ones that appear to consist of chopped up pieces of other menus stuck to a piece of laminate. it will always contain beef.
  • don't walk out of a shop carrying shopping without a carrier ...
