... Turns out, it's a pretty standard buffet set-up and there are even special divided dishes so you can take up to 12 different things and they won't mix together. I was slightly jealous though when I sat down and saw the man at the next table with his very own flaming mini hot plate grill thing. This looked too complicated for night 1 so I resolved to get one the next day. I did. It was tasty.

... Ice was everywhere and what I first thought would be an awesome ride soon became the two of us dragging our ass down the mountain across solid ice and freezing gale force winds smacking us in the face with more force then a mandingo load. We managed to make it down alive though it felt like I had just been sodomized and left in a gutter.

After a long day on the slopes we were keen to consume some alcohol and have a loose night. We ventured out of our apartment ...

... been a 45 day run when the sun did not show it's face at all! He said that for 10 of those days it snowed relentlessly and the least snow that fell on any one day was 20 cms. Apparently in the midst of winter the snow is fabulous...powder....and that is why people from all over the world like to ski in Japan. ... the 3 days. He also showed us some amazing video from 2 months ago that consisted of some of the deepest champagne powder i have ever seen that him and his son were skiing on Grand Hirafu. Excited by our sweet deals, we grabbed some groceries and made our way back to the apartment. Tomorrow we are hitting the hill and could not be happier.

The resort here is quite large area wise, but the Mountain itself is not exactly statuesque. Standing ...

... me. I was just finding my ski legs when Kevin fell and I heard a screech.....last year we both fell and got straight up so I wasn't overly concerned. This was different though...Kevin had fallen and torn a calf muscle!! Unsurprisingly he was in a lot of pain and said a lot of words that, being a lady, I hadn't heard before! He knew what had happened as soon as he went over - he said he could hear/feel the calf muscle ...
