Leaving Sapporo, we drove along the coast for a while and through a
few fishing villages. There were thousands of dragonflies that all
seemed to be moving in one direction (migrating perhaps?) around one
of the villages. The countryside that we drove through along the
coast was quite mountainous, but absolutely beautiful. I couldn't

Lavender fields...
After a pleasant two hour train journey from Sapporo we arrived in Furano. There we checked into a nice Youth Hostel and went for a walk to enjoy the countryside. Where it's all about skiing in winter, during spring and summer the big draw card is expansive fields with perfectly aligned rows of lavender and various flowers. And even though we're not too much into flowers, this was really quite beautiful. Impressive was also the amount of tourists here. We haven't seen many ...
Shower me with flowers
... always pleasing. Rain kept bothering us along the way. We had to look for cover at the Fuda farm. My dad's sneaker lost its sole and I lent him my sandal.
Besides looking at the flowers, what could we do? The hills at Furano and Mei look okay, countryside, natural view, refreshing if you work and dwell in big cities.

Bathing and Catty Wompass !!
... many sitting areas along the side equip with mirrors, shampoos and one foot high stools. It would be against the unwritten Onsen rule to get into the mineral water in a scuzzy state. So you must spend some quality time staring at your nude self in one of these mirrors scrubbing with the complimentary soap and hosing yourself down whilst crouching on a super tiny stool. Solid metal image eh? I actually saw a dude sit at one of these stations ...
