The breakfast buffet was Japanese and Western and offered a large variety of items. It was served in a large hall overlooking the garden. We took the hotel shuttle to the center of Kusatsu and were dropped off at the bus station. After a short walk we arrived at the square where the Yubatake or the hot water field is. The hot spring water in Kusatsu has one of the highest temperatures of spring water in Japan, the temperature measures 94 Celsius. The Yubatake ...

We board the Hokuriko Shinkansen to Nagano at Tokyo Station. The Hokuriko Line was launched March 14, 2015, and connects Tokyo to Kanazawa. After the train arrives in Tokyo from Kanazawa a cleaning crew boards the train to clean it before passengers are allowed to enter. Today we decide to walk the main street and see the Zenkoji Temple. Well we are in for a great surprise. There is a huge parade heading to the temple, and we have arrived just before it starts. The route is lined with very talented Japanese drummers along the way playing some very addictive beats.
We follow the parade up to the Temple where it is packed with thousands of people, and plenty of TV crew. Its ...

The hotel at the airport was, well an airport hotel so not much write home about… but Japan on the other hand…

Can’t wait to chat to our Japanese friends back at JSK to explain what a country they’ve got.

I hope the kids remember and savour it as there won’t be many more interesting and fun countries they ...
